RELENTLESS ANXIETY
After Tinga is forced to breed with 664 during heat, she conceives. Renfro moves her to an isolated location.
Niah goes free but can’t tell them anything about Tinga except that she was forced to be alone with another male X5 for extended periods and when she was taken away she was screaming, “No! You’re lying!
,
When the Familiars finally blow up Manticore in search of ‘The One’, Tinga escapes along with her newborn daughter and stumbles across 664, her breeding partner and father of her baby girl.
They get to safety together, 664 or Shane (as is settled upon for his name), becomes possessive and protective going so far as to try and convince Tinga to stay with him. When they meet up with Zack and Co., later, and Tinga is reunited with Charlie, the three have a conversation about the child.

“What?!” Shane said in shock, “I can’t believe you would choose an Ordinary over one of your own.”
“I was married to him before I met you, 664,” Tinga replied shortly.
“You and I have a child together, 696!”
“Charlie and I have a son, too, 664! I love Charlie. I married him and we have a family. Do you even understand the sanctity of marriage? God!” she exclaimed passionately, “I’m lucky that Charlie understands this mess between you and me, Shane, because god knows I don’t!”
“I’m trying, six-Tinga, I really am. But that’s my little girl you’re talking about. You can’t think I’d let you take her.”
“What am I supposed to do, Shane? Leave her with you?”
“Wouldn’t that just be the answer to everything? Your….husband won’t want a child that isn’t his, you’d look at her and remember me, remember us…and I can’t just come with you to be near her. Let me take her. I’ll be good to her, you know I will!”
“What the hell do you know about being a father?”
“About as much as I know about anything out here! But I’ll learn. That’s my daughter, Tinga. Please don’t do this.”
“Maybe he’s got a point, Pen- Tinga,” Charlie interjected quietly.
“What?!” Tinga exclaimed incredulously. “You can’t be serious!”
“Honey, this whole thing was a nightmare and I don’t want to lose you again, but I don’t know if I could be the father I know I should be to a little girl I’ll always see as the result of, of…that. I love you, but I just don’t know,” he said anxiously, staring at his hands and avoiding his wife’s eyes.
“But,”
“Oh, baby, I don’t blame you for any of this, but I’m only a man, Penny.”
“I can’t leave her, Charlie, I can’t.”
“I don’t know what to tell you, sweetheart.” Charlie’s voice was thick with regret and sadness but it wasn’t hopeful. Tinga’s rational mind understood her husband but her heart was torn.

EDIT THIS PART IN SOMEHOW
“You could have fought it!” he turned away from his wife, body tense and shaking.
“Under normal circumstances, yes,” Tinga acknowledged, “But these weren’t normal circumstances, Charlie.”
“Of course they weren’t,” Charlie muttered bitterly, “You were naked and the urge to rut like a wild animal was just too much for you.”
Tinga’s hand flew to her mouth, eyes welling with tears.
“Don’t you talk to her like that!,” Shane interrupted angrily, stepping between the pair as if the move would shield his mate from the Ordinary’s hurtful words.
“You, shut up! You’re the reason I lost my wife!”
“You’ll only lose your wife if you keep pushing her away like this!”
“Shut UP!” CRACK! Charlie’s fist caught Shane unawares and barely glanced of his jaw thanks to a quick intervention from Tinga.
“Here, hold her,” she said, gently placing the baby in Shane’s arms. Shane immediately stepped away from Charlie, cradling the baby to his chest and rocking her as he crooned softly to the little girl, brushing his lips over her brow and cheeks and smiling gently.
Charlie couldn’t tear his eyes from the picture they painted; doting father and precious child. The enormity of the situation and the consequences thereof were suddenly too clear and wholly unavoidable.
“Charlie,” Tinga began softly.
He shook his head. “No. Maybe he’s right.”
*crack*
Shane’s hand went to his face, the pain of impact from the Ordinary’s fist to his jaw stronger than he would have imagined.
“What was that for?”
“You slept with my wife, asshole.”
Shane nodded. “Okay, I deserved that.”
The X-5’s bland acceptance pushed Charlie over the edge and he flew at the other man in a blind rage.
“My fucking WIFE!”

NOTES FROM CHAT WITH SHERI
Wildsky (Sheri) says (10:16):okay, honey, i think it could use some smoothing in places but the idea is sound. i could imagine charlie watching this conversation between Tinga and Shane and his mind going to places he doesn’t want it to go. Then he looks at this baby girl and all he can see is Shane
Instant Human – Just add coffee! says (10:18):
THANK YOU
Wildsky (Sheri) says (10:18):
It might have been different if the father was a nameless, faceless person he’d never met
Wildsky (Sheri) says (10:18):
but it just got real
Instant Human – Just add coffee! says (10:18):

Instant Human – Just add coffee! says (10:19):

Instant Human – Just add coffee! says (10:19):

Wildsky (Sheri) says (10:19):

Wildsky (Sheri) says (10:19):

Wildsky (Sheri) says (10:20):
at the same time, it might be good to see Charlie showing some anger towards Shane as well, just a tad of hostility. This guy has carnal knowledge of his wife, for God’s sake
Wildsky (Sheri) says (10:20):
No man on earth is going to be polite about that
