A/N1: This is an AU fic. While the basic background exists, i.e. Max escaped back in ’09, there are differences, i.e. she got out but moved to New York. Alec went AWOL after the Berrisford mission…and much more!

A/N2: Due to the extreme AU setting, almost all of the canon characters have different job descriptions, somewhat altered personalities, etc. This story contains some Logan bashing simply because we wanted to use an existing canon character — other than Sketchy – in the role of ‘not so mr. bright.’

A/N3: This story has been revived after an excruciatingly long hiatus. My apologies, but medical issues and other RL demands didn’t leave me with much time to dedicate to the story. This seems to be a recurring problem, sadly, but I hope I’m over the worst of it. Now my muse just needs a good kick in the pants. Anyone?
